Lightspeed Systems Debut Classroom Management Tool

Lightspeed Systems has launched a new classroom management tool, Classroom Orchestrator, designed to make monitoring devices and student activity easier.

Orchestrator provides a centralized thumbnail view of an entire class to allow teachers to see who's on task, who may need help or who may be ready to move on to0 the next task. From there, teachers can choose an individual student to check up on in more detail, or even record what's happening on their screen, to personalize instruction or improve student accountability.

The tool can be integrated with student information systems to more easily add students and provides Children's Internet Protection Act-compliant filtering.

"More features added to Classroom Orchestrator over the next months will include virtual hand raising, instant chat, live polling and more," according to a news release.

"Classroom Orchestrator is the next step in successful mobile learning programs," said Brian Thomas, president of Lightspeed Systems, in a news release. "We want to empower teachers to use mobile devices for learning by making monitoring those devices in the classroom easier. Classroom Orchestrator does that and more."

The tool is available as a standalone app for Windows devices or as part of the company's Mobile Learning Essentials bundle.
