K-12 Reading

ReadWorks Offers Free Summer Reading Packets Online

ReadWorks, a provider of reading comprehension curricula, is producing free summer reading packets for K-12 students.

The packets aim to challenge kids to read toward their next grade level during summer vacation. The reading passages can be downloaded from ReadWorks’ website individually or all at once.

ReadWorks is a nonprofit committed to solving the nation’s "reading comprehension crisis" by giving teachers and parents the research-proven tools and support they need to improve the academic achievement of their students and children, according to the compay's website.

ReadWorks provides research-based units, lessons and authentic, grade-level nonfiction and literary passages directly to educators online, for free, to be shared broadly.

The ReadWorks curricula are aligned to the Common Core state standards and standards in all the 50 states.
