Grant Program Seeks Project-Based Learning Ideas

The Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) is offering grants for projects the use project-based learning to teach STEM.

The current round of grants with a due date of May 1 is for educators in grades 6–12 requesting more than $5,000 for their projects. For those seeking less, the next due date is June 1.

The program seeks innovative ideas for improving classroom-based STEM learning, with a requirement that the ideas be built around project-based learning and that they have measurable outcomes.

Applications for the TAF grant program are open now and are due May 1. Each year, TAF funds two rounds of grants for grades 6–12 for projects requesting more than $5,000 in funding. The second round has a deadline of Nov. 1. TAF also offers quarterly grants for grades 6–12 for projects requesting up to $5,000, with due dates of March 1, June 1, Sept. 1, and Dec. 1. There is also an annual program for grades K–5, with an Oct. 1 due date.
