Sunburst Technology Offers Teacher Resources Site

Sunburst Technology has launched a new Teacher Resources Room on its Web site. The redesign addresses teacher requests for quick and easy access to information, as well as for online student activities that are engaging, target the skills their students need to practice, and are suitable whether the time available for such activities is a few minutes or a whole period.

The group of online Classroom Challenges available for first-graders through high school students features games designed to help students master a variety of skills, including estimation, visual thinking, quadratic equations, mapping and reasoning. This commercial-free area also features an activity to help students build their speed and accuracy in keyboarding while playing a challenging spelling game. The Software Resources area offers teachers tips and time-savers, including homework helpers, extension activities and curriculum integration strategies for Sunburst programs.

At the new Teacher Resources area, teachers can view well-designed, at-a-glance pages of Sunburst mathematics, language arts and science titles that are correlated to both national and state standards. To further explore titles in which they are particularly interested, teachers can then quickly access more detailed information and, in some cases, even view online demos.

Online previews using advanced video streaming technology are available for more than 20 titles in Sunburst's health and guidance video collection. The site also offers previews of more than a dozen new pamphlets covering important character and life education topics, such as respect, conflict resolution and drug abuse.
