Math Site Uses Sports to Teach Math

Professional basketball player Elton Brand will be a featured athlete on MathMastery's MathNSports Club site, helping students understand mathematical concepts through sports statistics. The club presents mathematical concepts, such as fractions, decimals, tables, graphs and statistics in a creative, real-world scenario such as basketball and other sports.

Through rigorous math content, the MathNSports Club strives to engage fourth- through eighth-grade students in doing math, thereby increasing student achievement. In addition to basketball star Elton Brand, the MathNSports Club will feature celebrities from a variety of sports throughout the year.
