College Board Launches AP Site

The College Board, in conjunction with College- board.com, has launched a new Web site as part of an effort to improve professional development opportunities and resources for education professionals interested or involved in the Advanced Placement program. AP Central (www.apcentral.collegeboard.com) was built by and for the AP teaching community, with more than 100 teachers and college faculty involved in its development.

AP Central offers up-to-date and comprehensive information on AP courses and exams, as well as resources and tools to help administrators and teachers get started with an AP program. It also enables seasoned AP professionals to further strengthen their respective AP curricula.

The site's Teachers' Corner provides a content area for every AP course, including tips, advice and other useful content submitted by AP professionals. In addition, the site includes course overviews, syllabi and exam tips for each subject written by AP teachers. The Teachers' Resource Catalog includes teacher reviews of resources in biology, calculus AB and BC, English literature and language, and statistics, with more subjects to be added. Teachers can also use the Professional Development Catalog to get information on workshops and institutes offered through The College Board and other educational groups. The College Board, New York, NY, (212) 713-8000, www.collegeboard.com.
