Campus Pipeline Releases New Web Products

Campus Pipeline has released the newest version of its Web Platform and six new products, expanding Web Platform's capabilities. Web Platform integrates campus technologies, student information systems, learning management systems, academic resources and other services into a central network.

Web Platform 3.1 includes a new Course Portal feature that makes it easier to access Campus Pipeline course tools and those of any learning management system. It also includes portal content, directory and messaging server upgrades. The six new additional products provide access for handhelds; personalized content delivery; and portal building tools for classes and campus organizations.

The new products are bundled and sold as two separate packages. Line Extension Package 1 includes Personalized Content Delivery 1.0, which lets institutions deliver only Web page views and e-mails that are applicable to an individual's specific role or area of study. It also comes with Handheld Sync 1.0 to support the use of handhelds in the classroom. Secure Transport 1.0 prevents eavesdropping and data tampering by creating a point-to-point, secure data transport channel between the Web Platform and the school's student information systems, learning management systems or other software.

Line Extension Package 2 comes with Group Portal 1.0, which lets campus groups set up private Web communities that are easy to manage. It also comes with Group Maker 1.0, which creates and administers group lists, and Course Consolidator 1.0, which lets instructors consolidate sections and manage a single course home page.
