Science Works Available From Online Database

As part of John Wiley & Sons' online service Wiley InterScience, the publisher is now making available Wiley InterScience OnlineBooks, an extensive database of scientific, technical and medical content. Unlike traditional e-books, OnlineBooks offer all the flexibility and dynamism that fully searchable, integrated online content allows. The database will integrate the content of Wiley InterScience journals and reference works with more than 200 of Wiley's scientific, technical and medical titles by the end of 2002. It will be segmented into three main subject collections, each of which will be further divided into three smaller collections: chemistry, life and medical sciences, and electrical engineering and telecommunications. Access will be licensed on an annual basis to one or more of these collections, and will be available on a permanent basis for an ongoing maintenance fee. Subscriptions will include unlimited access to search and browse content, integrated with Wiley InterScience journals and reference works.

In addition, the publisher recently launched Annals of Neurology MobileEdition, an online service delivering tables of contents and abstracts from the latest issues of the prestigious Annals of Neurology to network appliances, wireless handheld devices and Web-enabled phones. The MobileEdition is a new alerting service provided by Wiley InterScience that runs on software now bundled on many Palm OS- and Windows CE-based handheld computers, as well as on Internet-enabled phones.
