NC State Offers Online Homework System

Students at more than 280 schools nationwide are having their homework automatically graded online with WebAssign, an online assessment service developed at North Carolina State University that enables teachers to distribute, collect, grade and record assignments quickly and accurately over the Internet. Students can also get immediate feedback on their homework assignments, whereas in some districts teachers have neither the time nor resources to check homework daily.

WebAssign features more than 125,000 end-of-chapter textbook questions in math and science courses. The system allows teachers to use existing questions or write their own. It also has features that prevent students from copying each other’s work and make it impossible to do assignments right before class. In addition, WebAssign enables teachers to closely monitor their students’ progress and provide individual attention to those who need it. WebAssign, Raleigh, NC, (800) 955-8275, www.webassign.net.
