Web Resource Brings Authors Into the Classroom

Authors4 Teens.com (www.authors4teens.com) explores the craft, habits and hobbies of today's top young-adult authors. Each author is showcased with in-depth interviews that allow students to participate in virtual one-on-one conversations. Other features, such as the site's image gallery and bibliography sections, help bring the selected author and their works to life. A monitored discussion board also allows users to discuss topics that are related to the site. The site lets students get to know their favorite authors, gain a better understanding of their favorite books and develop an insight into interpreting literature. In addition, teachers can create lesson plans around some of the site's interviews and discussion topics.
