E-MAIL COURSES HELP SHARPEN STUDENT WRITING SKILLS

Providing students with the flexibility to take courses strictly by e-mail, the University for Writers has developed a Web site, www.universityforwriters.com, to help students of all ages become better writers. The courses feature one-on-one communication through e-mail with teachers who engage and challenge students to gain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, while solidifying their knowledge of various aspects of writing, including grammar and story structure.

BRAINPOP OFFERS NEW SUBSCRIPTION; EXPANDS WITH SPANISH SITE

BrainPOP (www.brainpop.com) has announced a new subscription package that combines school and BrainPOPhome access to all of the company’s animated K-12 educational movies, quizzes, and activities. The 12-month school/home access subscription is now being offered for an introductory rate of $1,350 for a single school site.  In addition, BrainPOP has recently released a Spanish version of its site at www.brainpop.com/es, which will be free for an undetermined period of time.

    Google has introduced a variety of features across its products for education, announced recently at the 2025 BETT ed tech event in London. Among the additions are enhancements to Google Classroom and new tools for Chromebooks, "designed to help address the diverse needs of students around the world," Google said in a blog post.
