Interwrite Debuts Workspace, Cricket

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Education technology developer Interwrite Learning has debuted two new technologies around its classroom tools: Interwrite Workspace, a software suite for working with digital media, and Interwrite Cricket, a new RF clicker for the company's student response system. Interwrite has also recently announced a partnership with MathMastery to integrate its math tools with the Interwrite Board, Pad, and Panel products.

Interwrite Workspace
Interwrite Workspace, unveiled earlier this month, is a software tool that provides digital media resources for teaching and assessment. These include:

  • Interwrite Sims (instructional animations for interactive learning);
  • Interwrite Images (an educational clipart library on a variety of topics for multiple grade levels);
  • Interwrite Lessons (a searchable online library of interactive lessons aligned with state standards); and
  • Interwrite Multimedia (various media tools for Flash, audio, and video).

In total, there are more than 50 instructional tools and more than 4,000 media resources in Interwrite Workspace. It's designed to work with Interwrite Boards, Pads, Panels, and student response systems. It's included free with Interwrite Board, Pad, and Panel but is also available in a standalone edition for $249. It supports Windows systems now, with Mac and Linux support expected to follow this summer.

Cricket
Interwrite has also launched a new product called Cricket, an RF-based student response handset. It features an eight-button design (true and false buttons, plus numbers and letters for multiple choice) and four LEDs to indicate various functions. Cricket is interoperable with other Interwrite assessment products, including Interwrite PRS and Interwrite Virtual PRS clickers. All Interwrite clickers can be used in the same classroom, according to the company.

Cricket handsets will be available in July with support for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. They'll sell for $36 apiece or in bundles of 24 for $1,129 and bundles of 32 for $1,429.

MathMastery Partnership
Finally, Interwrite has also announced a partnership with MathMastery to make interactive math content available for users of the Interwrite Board, Pad, or Panel. The MathMastery curriculum (online and DVD-based) is available for elementary and middle school math in English and Spanish and operates with the new Interwrite Workspace.

MathMastery's products are now available through Interwrite Learning, including 8 Core Concepts in Math: Interactive Classroom Edition (includes both teacher and student logins) for $495 and Core Concepts in Math: Interactive Schoolwide Edition for $1,995.
