Blackboard Debuts Educator Central Professional Development System

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Blackboard has launched Educator Central, a new solution for K-12 teacher professional development. It's a hosted system for building education communities and managing professional development programs, as well as delivering and evaluating these programs.

Educator Central is designed for managing both online and in-person professional development programs and includes technologies from MyLearningPlan, with whom Blackboard has partnered for the service. MyLearningPlan--a Web-based service for professional development--provides management functionality for the system.

Features of the system include:

  • Registration, tracking, and reporting;
  • Support for uploading course materials, including original and third-party materials; and
  • Support for collaborative curriculum development.

The system is fully hosted, and Blackboard supplies training for administrators and teachers on the use of the system. More information can be found here.
