SAS has recently announced that it will offer its Curriculum Pathways platform free to educators in the United States. According to the company, the move is aimed at providing teachers additional resources to engage students in an effort to increase national graduation rates.
Curriculum Pathways is an online platform providing resources in English, Spanish, mathematics, social studies, and science. Content is aligned to state standards and includes 200 "inter-activities" and more than 855 lessons. According to SAS, the platform can be used in single computer classrooms, small groups, or in 1:1 computing environments.
"SAS Curriculum Pathways is now a free resource from SAS to our nation's children," said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight, in a prepared statement. "Shrinking budgets and pricing structures should not stand in the way of America's students receiving education technology that will engage them and better prepare them for today's work force."
According to the company, Curriculum Pathways in intended for grades 8-12, with middle school content in the development stages. The free software is currently available through SAS.
