ViewSonic Launches Projectors for Education


ViewSonic's DLP-based PJD6251

ViewSonic has debuted two new projectors for education, the DLP-based PJD6251 for classroom use and the LCD-based PJL9371 for larger venues, such as auditoriums and lecture halls.

The PJD6251 is a 3D-ready DLP projector designed for classroom use. It offers an XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) and a brightness of 3,700 lumens, with a contrast ratio of 2,800:1 (dynamic). Other features include:

  • 1.2x manual optical zoom;
  • Vertical keystone correction ±40 degrees;
  • HDMI input, along with dual RGB/component inputs, an S-video input, and composite video in;
  • RGB out;
  • Dual 5 watt integrated speakers, along with eighth-inch stereo minijacks for audio I/O; and
  • An RJ-45 port for networking.

The PJL9371 is an XGA LCD projector that offers all of the same A/V connectivity features as the PJD6251 (minus the HDMI) but delivers 4,000 lumens of brightness and a 2,000:1 contrast ratio. Other features include:

  • Auto vertical keystone correction ±30 degrees;
  • 1.2x manual zoom;
  • Dual 8 watt speakers; and
  • Various security features, such as PIN lock, anti-theft security bar, and Kensington lock slot.

Both of the new models are available now. The DLP-based PJD6251 sells for $949. The PJL9371 sells for $1,749. Further information can be found here.
