Xyleme Extends Course Content Management to iPad

A company that develops content management applications primarily for corporate training has created a new version of its program for the Apple iPad. Xyleme has released Xyleme Mobile Learning on iPad, a native iPad app that allows users to deploy course materials previously used on other platforms. The new offering lets users repurpose existing training content for the iPad.

The iPad program offers several features:

  • Read Me, an e-book style with rich formatting, bookmarking, highlighting, and notes;
  • Try Me, e-learning courseware that includes interactive multimedia such as videos and animations;
  • Quiz Me, interactive assessments, quizzes, and remediation functions; and
  • Help Me, a knowledge base for helping the user find specific content.

"The ability to instantly repurpose your existing base of classroom and online learning materials takes advantage of Xyleme's inherent XML foundation," said Mark Hellinger, the company's president and CEO. "The need to build all learning content in modular, reusable components has never been clearer. [This product provides] the flexibility to pivot in any desired way through content."
