Follett To Award $200,000 in 21st Century Learning Challenge
Follett has formally launched its 2013–2014 Follett Challenge, a competition that awards prizes to schools for "the best and most effective approaches to 21st century learning."
The contest calls on educators to create a three- to five-minute video describing their 21st century program, with an emphasis on critical thinking, collaboration between students and teachers, communication, and creativity.
Major awards will be given in four categories: elementary school, middle school, high school, and other (for magnet schools, parochial schools, and schools that span primary and secondary). Three semifinalists will receive $30,000 in products and services from Follett. The overall winner will receive $60,000 in products and services from Follett, plus a celebration at the school.
In addition, the 10 schools receiving the most online votes will receive $5,000 in prizes.
Entries will be accepted beginning Nov. 1 and will close Feb. 28, 2014. Winners will be notified in April and May. Additional details can be found on follettchallenge.com.
