Exacq Video Management System Gets a Makeover

Exacq Technologies has updated its video management system with new IP camera integrations and other enhancements. Exacq, which is part of the security arm of Tyco, a global cross-sector manufacturer, recently released version 5.10 of exacqVision video management system (VMS) software. The new release includes support for 150 new camera models and updated two-way audio functionality. At the same time the company has improved its mobile app and released a new enterprise monitoring program.

exacqVision, which comes in several editions, depending on the size of the environment, provides a video switch for IP surveillance hardware. The user can monitor multiple cameras from a remote location.

The updated two-way audio supports Axis and Arecont Vision cameras outfitted with audio output capabilities. Among the new IP camera support are a number of models from Axis, Pelco, Samsung, Sony and Canon, among others. The update brings the total number of IP cameras supported to more than 1,650, according to the company.

A new event source group feature allows the security administrator to set multi-level triggers based on a combination of events. For example, a school may wish to monitor movement in hallways in certain buildings by detecting motion during a given period.

Enterprise System Manager (ESM) replaces the company's Enterprise Health Manager. The new edition provides a Web-browser view of the status of exacqVision servers as well as cameras on the network. When a device generates a system error or warning, users receive email notification. Use of ESM requires an exacqVision Enterprise VMS license.

Version 3.2 of the free mobile app includes user interface improvements and is available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire and Windows Phone 8.
