LRAD has debuted a new mobile PA system that boasts the ability to blast intelligible audio over a 2-square-mile area.

The new Mobile Mass Notification System, which LRAD described as a "long range acoustic hailing device," consists of a ruggedized trailer sporting a folding and telescoping mast that can lift the system's speakers to a height of 30 feet. The acoustic array can broadcast in a 360-degree ring with a radius of about 0.8 miles when configured with the four-emitter LRAD-360-4. That provides a coverage area of 2.01 square miles.

Other features include:

  • XLR and RCA input;
  • RCA output for daisychaining additional amplifiers;
  • 8-pin speaker out;
  • Remote and hard power on/off switches;
  • Remote and hard volume control.

Pricing has not been publicly announced. Further details can be found on LRAD's site.
