TES Global Expands Online Resource Marketplace for Teachers

TES Global is expanding its online marketplace, tes.com, for teachers to share and sell resources they've created.

With more than 7.3 million registered users, including 1.8 million teachers in the United States, the TES community downloads more than 1 million resources each day.

Teachers can set the price for their own resources and receive 100 percent of the proceeds from all sales to U.S. teachers, or give them away for free. The site includes "author shops" designed to help users promote themselves and their materials through short biographies and links to social media sites. TES also offers business support in the form of content analysts — all former teachers — who provide personalized guidance and support.

"I've always had textbooks in the classroom, but they've never served me or my students very well. While I want to monetize my resources, I also want my content to reach and help as many students as possible," said San Francisco teacher and resource author Charles Snyder. "TES gives teachers worldwide a way to both earn money and earn the professional respect they deserve."
