Follett Destiny 17.5 Enhances Library and Resource Manager, Adds New Controls for Collections

Follett is releasing Destiny 17.5, an update to its suite for library management, digital content and resource management.

The new version includes enhancements to Library Manager and Resource Manager. Library Manager adds community sharing to enable “seamless integration between your local public library’s Axis 360 eBook collection and Destiny.” It also includes several enhancements to inter-library loans.

Resource Manager adds support for electronic signatures and includes e-signature reporting. It also includes APIs for fines and resources and lets users “see an overview of resources needed across all sites, and drill down to get a detailed view into orders of a specific resource. To accurately plan and complete resource orders, use the new Resource Orders > Resources sub-tab.”

Other new features include:

  • A customizable home page for Destiny Discover;

  • New administrator controls over collections, including “edit, delete, copy and share any collection as if it were their own. Further, administrators can restrict users from seeing collections created at another site. This can be used in a K-12 district to prevent elementary school students from seeing high school content that may be inappropriate for them”;

  • Help Center updates;

  • Configuration options for inter-library loans and electronic signatures for emails; and

  • The ability to enable the Record in-library use and Check in off-site copies options at the district level.

The new version will be rolled out in March. A webinar on the new features can be accessed here. Further details can be found at follettlearning.com.
