Age of Learning Offers Free Access for Elementary Schools Affected by Coronavirus

An education technology company is opening up access to its digital study programs for young and elementary students. Age of Learning announced that it would grant free home access through the spring for schools and districts affected by coronavirus closures. The offer applies to three programs: ABCmouse, Adventure Academy and ReadingIQ.

  • ABCmouse is a learning resource that provides lessons for reading, math, science and art and colors for kids ages two to eight;

  • Adventure Academy is a multiplayer game for students ages eight to 13, covering reading, math and science; and

  • ReadingIQ is a digital library and literacy platform with 7,000 books and reading assessments for students 12 and under.

"Interruptions in learning due to unanticipated events such as school closures can have significant negative impacts on children's academic growth and development, as well as on their need for stability and consistency," the company said in a statement. "Particularly when in-school learning isn't possible, using research-based digital education programs at home can help children stay engaged, provide them valuable learning experiences and maintain some continuity in their lives."

The company has set up a landing page on its website where schools can apply for access to the programs.
