New System Enables Cloud Control of AV Assets

Hall Technologies has introduced HIVE Cloud Control, a new suite for managing AV assets, including legacy hardware and IP-enabled and wireless devices. Under one subscription a school or college can control any number of rooms and AV devices.

HIVE Control provides users with 24/7 control for configuring, managing and servicing AV clients located anywhere. The program uses a node-based design that doesn't require the need to maintain a centralized server or the purchase of gateway devices. Using HIVE Control, teachers or instructors can automatically record classroom feeds that are streamed to students in the cloud, to create a library of class reference material.

The system includes HIVE Touch, a 10.1-inch touch panel interface for controlling AV in a room. Once the software is configured, the user can turn on HIVE Touch and start teaching. HIVE Node is an IP controller for handling jobs in HIVE Cloud, available in Ethernet and Wi-Fi versions.

"HIVE Control's advanced design and features make the system truly unique in the AV industry," said CEO Jason Schwartz, in a press release. "We are the first to bring REST API to the pro AV industry, and feel proud to offer a world-class solution that sets a new standard in AV control and integration."

The company said it expected to begin shipping the suite of HIVE Control products in early the second quarter of 2021.
