Acer Rolling Out Updates to Gaming Desktops, Displays

Acer today announced updates to its Nitro and Predator Orion lines of gaming desktops, arriving in July. It’s also rolling out three new HDR gaming displays later this year.

The upcoming Predator Orion 3000 update is a mid-tower design offering an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor (up to eight cores), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU and up to 64 GB of 3.2 GHz DDR4 memory. Orther features include:

  • Intel Killer E2600 Ethernet (2.5 Gbps);

  • WiFi 6 with MU-MIMO functionality;

  • USB 3.2 generation-2 type-A and type-C ports;

  • DTS:X™ Ultra audio;

  • Up to 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD (1 TB x2) and up to 6 TB HDD (3 TB x2);

  • Optional EMI-compliant tempered glass side panel.

The upcoming Nitro 50 offers either AMD or Intel processors, up to AMD Ryzen 9 5900 Series desktop processor or the 11th-generation Intel Core i7. Both models come with:

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU;

  • 64 GB of dual-channel 3.2 GHz DDR4 memory;

  • Dual 3.5" SATA3 HDD Slots (Up to 3 TB x2);

  • M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD Slots;

  • 802.11ax/ac/a/b/g/n;

  • WiFi 6;

  • Dragon LAN 1 Gbps Ethernet; and

  • USB 3.2 generation-2 type-A and type-C ports.

Acer has also announced three new Predator monitors designed for gaming.

  • The Predator CG437K S, which will be available in North America in November starting at $1,799.99, is a 42.5-inch display offering 3,840 x 2,160 (4K/UHD) resolution with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 1ms VRB response, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, a USB-C port and a built-in KVM switch. It’s compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC.

  • The Predator X38 S, which will be available in North America in September starting at $1,999.99, is a 37.5-inch curved IPS display offering a 3,840 x 1,600 (UWQHD+) resolution and 175 Hz refresh rate, as well as DCI-P3 98% wide color gamut, Delta E<2 rating and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. It also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC, NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer and NVIDIA G-SYNC ULTIMATE.

  • The Predator X28, which will be available in North America in August starting at $1,299.99, is a 28-inch display offering 3,840 x 2,160 resolution and a 155 Hz refresh rate. It also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and includes the NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer. According to Acer, the Predator X28 is a TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe-certified gaming monitor.

The new Predator Orion and Nitro configurations will be available in North America starting in July, three months ahead of release in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Predator Orion will start at $1,199. Nitro will start at $949. Further details can be found on Acer’s site.
