Sora Extra Connects Students to Interactive Reading Resources

OverDrive Education is piloting Sora Extra, a new feature added to the Sora reading app that allows students to connect to interactive reading resources from teachingbooks.net. The announcement was made at the 2023 TCEA Convention & Exposition, taking place this week in San Antonio, TX.

Sora offers a catalog of educational ebooks and audiobooks and is used in some 59,000 schools around th world, according to the company.

According to OverDrive: "Sora Extra complements the digital books and engage students in a variety of educational subjects. This new Sora Extra connects digital books in Sora with TeachingBooks’ vast collection of games, video book trailers, read-along audiobook performances, meet-the-author interviews, and more."

Following a pilot with "a few dozen schools," the Sora Extra feature will be available through an icon within the app that will authenticate students with TeachingBooks.
