New Samsung AI Class Assistant Brings Generative AI Features to WAD Interactive Displays

Samsung AI Class Assistant

Samsung Electronics America has introduced new generative AI tools for its WAD series of interactive displays. Dubbed the Samsung AI Class Assistant, the feature will roll out later this year.

Capabilities of the AI Class Assistant include:

  • Automatic transcriptions and AI-generated summaries of spoken lessons, which can be shared to students directly from the display.
  • Automatically generated quizzes, based on lesson transcriptions and classroom materials. Students can participate in quizzes via their personal devices by connecting wirelessly to the display.
  • Voice recognition technology powered by AI education technology provider Merlyn Mind, enabling teachers to use voice commands to control interactive display functions.

First launched in May 2024, Samsung's WAD series of displays are available in 65-, 75-, and 86-inch models. The Google EDLA-certified displays run on the Android 13 operating system and have built-in support for Google services such as Google Classroom and Drive.
