Students Practice Test Taking via the Internet

The PLATO SimulatedTest System, a Web-based assessment tool, integrates skill assessments andpractice tests, which emulate state standards. This tool can be linked directlyto individual student instruction. The test system, sold on an annualsubscription basis, provides educators, parents and students with criticalinformation on student, class, school and district-wide test readiness. Thesystem gives teachers full control regarding timing and frequency of practicetests so students can be periodically re-assessed to determine their readiness.

Each practice test is designed to simulate the actual testexperience. Students may take the practice tests from any computer equippedwith a browser, and the system instantly grades the practice test when astudent finishes taking the exam. For students enrolled in schools using PLATOsoftware on a LAN or via the Internet, the system automatically creates anindividualized learning path to fill the gaps.

To help educators and parents keep effective records ofstudent progress, the system creates graphical and text reports for everystudent. Students and parents can view their own reports online. Educators canview individual student reports and class performance data, whileadministrators may view data by class, school or district.
