Take a Learning Adventure

CNNfyi.com, CNN's news and educational Web site for students and teachers, is continuing to expand its Learning Adventures series. Each month students can access feature stories, Webcasts, graphics, and interactive simulations on a given topic. The programs include educator-designed lesson plans and background materials linking each Learning Adventure subject to curriculum requirements. This month's topic is titled Out There: Missions to Space, and it studies the past, present, and future of space travel and technology, including coverage of the recent launch of the Mars Odyssey probe and the upcoming space shuttle launch to the International Space Station. Next month's topic is Citizens of the World, and will include conversations with world leaders about issues that face young people worldwide.

If a Learning Adventure d'esn't fit a class' curriculum when first presented, the CNNfyi.com archives offer teachers anytime access. Previous Learning Adventures are already archived, with titles including Virus Encounters, Your Brain, and Leading the Nation. Each Learning Adventure is linked to a special program on CNN Newsroom, CNN's commercial-free educational program for classrooms. CNN Newsroom airs at 4:30 a.m. ET weekdays on CNN. CNN Interactive, Atlanta, GA, www.CNNfyi.com.
