Texas Instruments has released version 1.1 of its TI InterActive! integrated PC software, which is specifically designed for math and science. InterActive! assists teachers in developing lessons and in-class activities that promote the understanding of math and science concepts, and the improvement of students' problem-solving skills. With TI InterActive!, teachers can create activities, conduct labs, and develop quiz or test materials using their in-class PCs, with or without the use of handheld graphing technology and data-collecting devices.

The upgraded software features a data filter for gathering information from the Internet, a slider bar for creating dynamic c'efficients, and enhanced statistical tools. It also allows activities to be saved in multiple formats, including HTML, Microsoft Word and Rich Text Format. In addition, TI has added the TI-89, TI-92 and TI-92 Plus to its existing list of compatible graphing units.

Products that are compatible with TI InterActive! include the TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Plus Silver Edition, TI-89, TI-92, TI-92 Plus, as well as CBR and CBL 2 data collection devices. Version 1.1 of TI InterActive! is available free to schools and teachers who have purchased version 1.0. The new version can be downloaded from the TI Web site.
