MIND Games: Institute Releases Algebra Intervention
##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->
The MIND Research Institute has released supplemental courseware aimed at improving success rates in Algebra I classes. Dubbed ST Math: Algebra Readiness Supplemental, the new title expands MIND's math offerings into the middle school level, building upon the elementary school-focused, foundational math skills-oriented Algebra Readiness.
ST Math: Algebra Readiness Supplemental focuses on students in grades 6 and higher in need of math intervention. The courseware provides a "visual learning path for pre-algebra skills from a basic level of math principles up through introductory algebraic equations. The program can be used to either prepare students before they enter an Algebra I class, or as an intervention to help students already struggling with algebra," according to the nonprofit company.
The program is organized into national- and state-aligned modules targeting a variety of arithmetic concepts to help build a foundation for algebra through a game metaphor that gradually increases in problem difficulty as students progress.
ST Math: Algebra Readiness Supplemental courseware is available now for Mac and Windows systems and includes software, a printed teacher resource guide, professional development for teachers, and online access to student status reports. It runs $89 per individual student license or $120 per sequential user license, including training and support. Perpetual licenses are also available.
