Oklahoma Consults ADT for School Security

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

The Oklahoma State School Boards Association announced that it's inked a deal with security firm ADT Security Services to provide training, materials, and purchasing advice for the state's 569 "current and prospective" member school districts. As part of the agreement, ADT will provide risk assessments to all member school districts and will help locate grants and other sources of funding for security solutions for schools.

ADT provides security services to about 6 million customers in North America, including 15,000 K-12 schools and 1,300 higher ed campuses, and supplies solutions for surveillance, access control, RFID, and other security-related areas.

"This is a natural fit for us," said Keith Ballard, OSSBA executive director, in a statement released over the winter break. "Our members are not always familiar with the various security solutions that are available for schools. ADT has shown itself to be very helpful and service oriented in working with us to better understand how best to protect our campuses."

In addition to providing risk assessments and funding services, ADT will also help OSSBA with two annual security workshops and supply various materials for OSSBA's publications and collateral.
