Lawson Inks Multi-Suite Deal with Greenville Schools

Lawson Software announced last week a multi-suite deal with Greenville County Schools that includes the company's financial and human capital management software, as well as their business intelligence suite. The new solution is intended to help the South Carolina district manage its financial information though a centralized, digital system.

According to the announcement, Lawson will provide Greenville County Schools with the Lawson S3 Enterprise Financial management and Human Capital Management suites, along with the Lawson Business Intelligence suite. The software will help the district automate several processes, including budgeting, purchasing, and reporting. Other features of the systems include the ability to drill down into financial and human resource information on a single system, as well as the ability to create role-based dashboard that are catered to individual departments.

"School districts around the country are faced with shrinking budgets and increasing demands from the communities they serve," said Alex Kaplan, services director, Public Sector, Lawson, in a prepared statement. "Lawson helps school systems optimize and account for scarce resources efficiently and at a lower total cost of ownership."

According to Lawson, the company currently serves four of the nation's 25 largest school districts. The contract with Greenville County Schools was signed in the company's fourth quarter, fiscal 2008.
