PowerSource Integrates Bullying Recording Software
A
major student information system (SIS) provider
is partnering with a company that uses its software to record incidents
of
bullying.
PowerSchool will incorporate into its SIS the
software of HIBster, which records for schools
and districts all instances of harassment,
intimidation and bullying (HIB). The hope is that schools will be able
to track
incidents of bullying and trends to better manage the problem.
HIBster's
program collects and tracks incidents
electronically, feeding back to schools and districts the information
they need
to respond accordingly to negative situations. PowerSchool is one of
the more
widely used SIS products that manage administrative processes and
instructional
data. The company said it has more than 40 million users around the
world,
including 7 million users of PowerSchool Mobile, which can provide
real-time
information to parents and students.
With
the collaboration, HIBster's recording
program will feed information on HIB incidents directly into the SIS,
allowing
administrators more access, more quickly, to information about bullying
and harassment
in their schools.

collaboration will allow schools to
seamlessly integrate our software into the school's existing platform,
making
district officials' roles more effective and efficient in tracking
these
incidents," said HIBster Director of Education Jim Budzilek.

this collaboration to our more than 140
other independent software vendor partners helps PowerSchool serve as
the hub
of districts' educational ecosystems," said Oliver Wreford, vice
president of
product and marketing at PowerSchool.
