Microsoft has announced a new cloud-first edition of Windows 11, designed specifically to run on low-cost devices for use in K-8.     Two federal agencies have released a new COVID-19 dashboard to publicize how the virus is hitting K-12 schools. The new dashboard, produced by the U.S. Department of Education and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), aggregates data on pediatric COVID-19 cases, youth vaccination rates and numbers on schools that are operating in-person, hybrid or remote. 11/15/2021

    Earlier this year, a school district in North Carolina refreshed its wireless network, to support devices with Wi-Fi 6 capacity — before they began appearing in classrooms. Burke County Public Schools distributed 1,500 new access points to its 27 schools, using equipment from Cambium Networks (previously Xirrus). 10/28/2021

    Education technology company LINQ said it will be moving its enterprise resource planning suite of products to the cloud in January for all of its customers.
