QuickMail Pro Gains Foothold in Education

CE Software has announced contracts for the deployment of QuickMail Pro E-mail in the Hempfield School District in Pennsylvania, the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) in California and Drake University in Iowa. The contracts give each institution an unlimited site license for the dual-platform (Mac/Windows) program.

Before the release of QuickMail Pro, many schools used QuickMail LAN, e-mail software for local area networks running on a Macintosh server. "Over the years QuickMail LAN has been the nearly exclusive e-mail choice among our 800 faculty and staff users," said George Miller, Drake's director of academic computing and media services.

When Drake sought to extend e-mail capabilities to students, officials found that QuickMail Pro offered many nice features, such as a GUI, set-up wizards, multiple address books and folders, a robust search engine, stylized text and a MailTicker for instant notification of new messages.
