ICSAC Reinforces Bridges

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

The Iowa College Student Aid Commission (ICSAC) is expanding its relationship with developer Bridges Transitions to implement an online, statewide "career exploration" resource for middle schools, high schools, and post-secondary institutions.

Bridges Transitions is a unit of Xap Corp. a developer of education technologies, including, among other things, an electronic transcript exchange system called, of all things, Transcript Exchange.

The deal calls for Iowa to continue using Choices Explorer and Choices planner in schools, while adding Choices Planner to institutions of higher education.

"[ICSAC] has a long-standing valued relationship with Bridges," said Karen Misjak, executive director of ICSAC. "We are very pleased to expand our current base of Bridges and Xap solutions by continuing to offer Choices Explorer and Choices Planner at middle and high schools respectively, with the ability to provide Choices Planner in our post-secondary institutions across the state."

Students use Choices Explorer in middle school to help develop online portfolios. In high school, they transition to Choices Planner, which is used to help develop education and career goals. Through the new arrangement, Choices Planner will also be available for use in colleges and universities in Iowa. The deal kicks in July 1 and is set to last for one year, with renewal options extending up to four years.
