Samsung Rolls Out Android Tablet Program to Canada

Samsung has teamed up with Advanced Education to bring its Samsung School solution to Canada.

The solution consists of the Android-based Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and Samsung's classroom software, which includes tools for polling and quizzes, screen sharing, bulletin boards, learning management, content management, group collaboration, announcements, and device management.

According to Advanced Education, the solution has been put into the hands of students in Robina Baker Elementary School in Devon, Alberta.

"Samsung School has brought such a dynamic energy to the classroom. Through these easy-to-manage digital tools, we are able to truly focus on education instead of the technology," said Matthew Kierstead, principal of Robina Baker Elementary School, in a prepared statement.

"The kids are able to make a more personal connection to the materials they're studying," said RBES teacher Trevor Handerson, also in a prepared statement. "The tablets integrate online technologies with their personal notes."

Additional details about Samsung School for Canada can be found on Advanced Education's site.
