Solstice 2.2 Increases Mirroring Support for Apple iOS Devices

Mersive's Solstice software

Mersive has updated its Solstice software to expand the mirroring capability of Apple iOS devices. The wireless collaboration product allows multiple users (and devices) to connect to a shared display over an existing wired or wireless network.

Solstice 2.2 "enables users to share content from their Apple iOS devices on networks that do not allow UDP broadcast traffic." This means users can mirror their devices to shared displays across a broader range of networks, including those with strict IT policies and requirements, according to a press release. The upgrade also broadens application-sharing support for Windows users, providing support for sharing of Windows Office applications on Windows 8 platforms, as well as OpenGL applications.

Other enhancements include:

  • Support for Apple AirPlay discovery;
  • Orientation support for iOS-captured images; and
  • A Global Disable Video Feeds checkbox, allowing users or administrators to enable or disable video feeds via the Configuration Panel or Solstice Dashboard.
