Plagiarism Checker, Speed Radar Features Added to Imagine Learning Edgenuity Platform

Imagine Learning, a provider of digital curriculum solutions serving more than half the nation’s K–12 school districts, recently unveiled new features within its Imagine Edgenuity platform to help maintain academic integrity among students, according to a news release.

The new features, called Plagiarism Checker and Speed Radar, “give educators more time to focus on improving student outcomes while empowering students to take ownership of their learning,” Imagine Learning said.

Teachers using Plagiarism Checker can scan student submissions to check for content matches across the internet and from submissions by other students; it will identify potentially plagiarized work, so teachers can view the content similarities and decide their next steps. As the system scans students’ submissions, it is also building its database, improving the plagiarism checker’s capabilities and accuracy of results the more educators use it, Imagine Learning said.

The Speed Radar feature will alert teachers when students move through assigned content too quickly, which “could indicate low engagement with content or the student’s use of a browser extension to fast-forward through content,” the company said.

Plagiarism Checker is now available within Imagine Edgenuity and through Imagine Learning's Academic Integrity service, according to the news release; Speed Radar will launch this summer.
