Music Periodical Database Is Fully Searchable

The International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP) is a new music periodical database, spanning from 1844 to the present. It covers more than 400 journals, both scholarly and popular, from over 30 countries. Available for Windows, IIMP uses Chadwyck-Healey's Caravan software to allow searching by any one of more than 14 fields, and records from 1996 have a fully searchable abstract. "IIMP is the first music periodical database to cover recent journals and to go back to the earliest issues of important musical periodicals," said Stephen Rhind-Tutt, president of Chadwyck-Healey. A special hierarchical thesaurus of musical terms aids novices and experts alike to find what they are looking for. The database is available on CD with annual software updates. Prices range from $495 to $1,995 for a site license. Chadwyck-Healey, Inc., Alexandria, VA, (800) 752-0515, www.chadwyck.com.
