Learning System Has Hands-On Projects

PCS Edventures! is a project-based learning system that delivers instruction and tracks student performance via the Internet. It can supplement existing school curricula or serve as the foundation for a free-standing learning center.

Students work at their own pace with the assistance of Internet resources and hands-on materials, many of which can be found around the house.

Projects cover a range of topics appropriate for grades K-12. Projects not only impart knowledge, but encourage youngsters to solve problems, make decisions and avoid reactionary thinking. Small group interaction and brainstorming sessions are integral components. PCS Edventures! also involves parents as mentors and supports home schooling.

Through the Merit System, students can accumulate points by successfully completing projects that match their age, level of maturity, abilities and innate talents. Teachers may search for projects in the PCS database that address specific concepts for specific grade levels. PCS Education Systems, Boise, ID, (800) 429-3110, www.pcsedu.com.
