Students Experience Wildlife

A partnership between EBSCO Publishing and the National Wildlife Federation has resulted in the inclusion of National Wildlife magazine as a part of the EBSCOlearn Science series. The series is available on CD-ROM, as well as online via EBSCO School ResourceNet (ESRN), EBSCO’s Web-based learning environment.

Teachers select from a list of hundreds of articles found in the award-winning nature magazine and assign these articles to students. Students complete assignments by reading the articles and taking the accompanying tests. All necessary materials are included in the software, and tests are self-correcting. The program also includes curriculum guides, which use groups of articles in thematic, standards-based lessons.

Schools accessing EBSCOlearn National Wildlife through the Web-based ESRN have the option of using any workstation with access to the Web, both inside and outside of school. It also allows educators, parents and students to communicate via an online messaging system. EBSCO Publishing, Ipswich, MA, (800) 653-2726, www.epnet.com.
