The PC Music Tool Kit from MAGIX Entertainment Corp. offers a complete recording studio that allows users to compose, record, edit and master their original music, and then burn it to a CD. Users can record live instruments from keyboards to guitars and vocals, and add audio effects like chorus, reverb or fuzz distortion in real time. Also included with the program is a MIDI (musical instrument digital interface) cable to hook up MIDI instruments to a PC, along with an extensive digital audio sample library with more than 2,800 prerecorded samples in a variety of styles. There is also a feature that enables users to print recordings as sheet music. The program's intuitive interface makes it easy to use for beginners and intermediate skill levels. Other features include a lyric mode that displays song texts; 32 digital audio recording tracks; drum-loop editing; AVI integration that allows the user to import and export audio in any AVI video file, enabling users to create their own film score, record dialogs, etc.; and the ability to import and export MP3, WAV and other files. In addition, MAGIX is offering a free downloadable school version of its Music World Generation6 from the Education section of its Web site.
