Scholastic Launches K-3 E-Book Resource

Children's book publisher Scholastic has announced Scholastic BookFlix, an online literary resource for children in grades K-3. Children's fiction and non-fiction titles will be paired in an e-book format. According to Scholastic, 80 pairings will be available for the launch with 20 Spanish language pairings.

The online resource is designed for school and public libraries and classrooms through a subscription; home use will be available through education institutions and public libraries, according to Scholastic.

E-book features will include:

  • Read-along options;
  • Narrated text and key-word definitions;
  • Educational games;
  • Biographies and interviews with authors; and
  • Web links for book topics.

Click, Clack, Moo, Where the Wild Things Are and Goodnight Gorilla are a few of the fiction titles to be included in the e-book library. According to scholastic, the online resource is accessible with password via the Internet. The company has plans for future e-book releases as well.
