Kaplan Debuts Augmented Reality Tools for Elementary Classrooms

Kaplan Early Learning has launched a series of augmented reality tools designed for use in kindergarten and elementary school classrooms.

The new tools, which include Letters Alive, Math Alive and Storybooks Alive, are supplemental tools designed to support learning in math and reading through augmented reality lessons and activities throughout the school year.

"Each task utilizes kinesthetic, visual and auditory modalities, which apply to a broad range of learning styles and abilities," according to a news release. "From letter naming to sentence building, each program is aligned to Common Core State Standards and serves as a supplemental solution to existing curricula."

A full suite containing all three products is available for $1,295.99. It includes the software on a USB drive, one classroom license, lesson plans, training videos and more. Letters Alive and Math Alive are available individually for $795.95 each.

"Augmented reality is similar to your typical 3-D experience, but it doesn't require the use of special glasses or tools," said Travis Williams, elementary merchandiser at Kaplan, in a prepared statement. "While augmented reality is becoming more and more popular across several industries, this is the first product we've seen that utilizes this technology in early learning."
