zSpace Adds MEL Science Lessons to AR/VR Learning Platform

Two companies are working together to make science-based curriculum more immersive. zSpace has added MEL Science's chemistry courses to its augmented and virtual education platform, which can run on a laptop or the zSpace AiO Pro. Students wear special eyeglasses that track with the image on the screen, to give the impression of being able to view under, over and around objects. They can interact with the objects using a stylus that performs various actions depending on which zSpace application they're using.

Immediately, 10 activities from MEL are available for middle school and 39 for high school. Each lesson is three to seven minutes long and can be integrated into standard chemistry units. Using the combination of programs, students can, for example, get an interior view of pure substances, mixtures and atoms; perform experiments virtually; and explore the periodic table.

zSpace is also using learning content from VIVED Science (for high school) and its own development studio (for middle school and high school).
