Esports League Announces Fall Games for Middle Schools, High Schools

An esports league company has announced the kickoff of its fall tournament season. Generation Esports hosts competitions for middle school and high school.

The High School Esports League (HSEL) has registration open until Oct. 11, 2020. The preseason begins on Sep. 21. The official season starts on Oct. 12 and ends Dec. 10. The playoffs run from Dec. 11 through Dec. 18.

High school participants can vie for up to $30,000 in college scholarships. Other prizes include gift cards, loot crates and gaming gear.

The high school "Fall Major" is open to any North American high school team registered with HSEL with an active Battlepass, a membership that can be purchased by individuals, teams or schools. Pricing starts at $40 per student.

Tournament games for the high schoolers include Overwatch, NBA2K21, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Smash, Madden 21, Rocket League, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, Hearthstone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The Middle School Esports League (MSEL) is also taking registrations through Oct. 11, 2020, with a preseason start of Sep. 28. The official season begins Oct. 12 and ends Dec. 10. Playoffs will take place between Dec. 11 and 18.

At the middle school level, gamers can play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Rocket League, Just Dance 2020 and Minecraft. Champions of the MSEL Fall Major will win five Nintendo Switch consoles for their school esports clubs. Pricing for a membership starts at $20 per student.
