The fifth annual National Conference on Family Literacy (NCFL) will be held April 21-23, 1996, in Louisville, Ky. Speakers include Jim Trelease, author of Read-Aloud Handbook, and Lisbeth Schorr, author of Within Our Reach.

NCFL training staff will hold pre-conference professional development training on April 18-19. These sessions include topics such as: building connections through program evaluation; building teamwork and leadership in a culturally rich context; and family literacy sampler.

Ten family literacy-related pre-conference workshops will be offered on the morning of the 21st, by such organizations as Advance, Baby TALK, Hippy USA, and Parents as Teachers.
