HP Color Printers Sell For Under $300

The HP DeskJet 600 and 600C printers for PCs and the HP DeskWriter 600 printer for Macintosh replace the HP DeskJet 540 and DeskWriter 540 printers.

The 600 series are color–;capable monochrome printers that can be upgraded to color with the purchase of an optional Color Kit. The DeskJet 600C includes an HP Color Kit, a media pack and 20 special fonts; it is scheduled to be available only in the U.S. market.

All three printers use the same new print heads, ink formulas and HP"s Resolution Enhancement Technology as the more expensive DeskJet 660C. All three are Windows 95 ready and expected to sell for under $300. Hewlett–;Packard, Palo Alto, CA, (800) 752–;0900, www.hp.com.
