Mac Now Speaks Three New Languages

Three new Apple Language Kits &emdash; Arabic, Hebrew and Cyrillic &emdash; are available for Macintosh users. The kits are targeted at language labs and schools that have interactive language learning programs; teachers and students can create assignments and projects in multiple languages. Each kit enables users to enter, edit and print text in the language; One can also install multiple language kits on the same computer. Every kit has a selection of keyboard layouts, including those based on intuitive phonetic transcriptions and transparent keyboard labels. The Arabic kit also supports Persian and includes five Arabic TrueType (TT) fonts and five Persian TT fonts. The Hebrew kit has four Hebrew TT fonts, which also include additional characters to support Yiddish. The Cyrillic kit contains three Cyrillic fonts that support Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Macedonian and Serbian.
